Description: Life & Times visits Hamilton High School to explore the world of a Los Angeles public secondary school at a time when urban education and the Los Angeles Unified School District are in crisis. Hamilton High is among the most ethnically diverse and integrated schools in the district with a student population that is 30% Latino, 30% white, 30% African American and 10% Asian. Life & Times profiles new principal Nina Russo, who intends to fight for reform at Hamilton High by breaking free from tight district control and providing a better school life for all its students. Changing Times at Hamilton High also spotlights: teacher Sterling Delone, who was recently narrowly defeated in a race for a school board seat; students; and an active Hamilton parent who has been committed to public education for the last decade.
